Sunday, October 16th , at 3 pm Trinity UMC front yard Bring your pet and join us. Invite a friend to come with you. As autumn arrives, people in various places may notice a procession of animals-from dogs and cats to hamsters and even horses-being led to churches for a special ceremony called the Blessing of Animal/Pets. This custom is conducted in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi's love for all creatures. This is a great opportunity to invite people who might not regularly attend church. Connect with them through a mutual love of animals. A special individual blessing will be offered that day to creatures great and small.
Please bring leashed pets on a leash or bring pets in carrier to ensure their safety.
Bring along a lawn chair!
We will also be collecting items for the Bladen County Animal Shelter. Bring treats, dog and cat food, puppy and kitten food, litter, blankets, cleaners, paper towels, and pet toys!
